Some short video clips I compiled together of my last 3 weeks in New Zealand :( mainly seals! In hindsight I wish I shot more on video but you live and learn!
I've been in New Zealand now for 5 months (God where does the time go?!) And even know I have only explored Wellington and the surrounding areas I can safely say I LOVE THIS CITY.
I met Mark http://bigmark.co.nz/ at a waitressing shift I was working at back in November. He was the event photographer of the night and in a bid to get back into creative work I walked over to him and asked if he was on in need of any assistants, and thank god he was!
So since that evening he has brought me on a number of his client jobs to assist. I have assited at a wedding, a conference (which involved an awesome day trip to weta digital) a graduation, a model shoot and two sporting events. I am so glad I went over to him that evening as I would never have got to all these cool events and see all these new parts of town! I've learnt so much since working with him too, so thanks again Mark for taking me on!
I work a bit backwards (I blame my left handedness!) so was going to skip the event images for another blog post and mention the night images we have been doing. Being a night owl myself, night photography has been something I've been dying to explore and learn for ages, so I requested Mark to teach me! I just think there's something so special and magical and still about places and towns after dark.
So here are some of the images we have captured so far in and around Wellington.
Light house by Shelly Bay, Wellington
Brooklyn Shops, Brooklyn Wellington.
Moa Point, Breaker Bay, Wellington
Wow....June 2014 since my last blog post...safe to say I am really not much of a blogger!
So in that time....(9 months that is!) I'll start off with last September 14 I left my job and life back in London, got on a flight to Bangkok and travelled solo around Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam for 5 weeks of Asian adventures! There were so many highlights to mention I don't even know where to begin.
Here are a selection of my favourite snaps from my time there
Here are a selection of cakes I have made and photographed over the last few months :)
Every year the Irish community from the County Leitrim in and around the London areas gather for an annual dinner dance. I was asked by my Uncle to come along to the event and document the night.
I wanted to challenge myself to a half marathon run...with a difference!
5 PAINFUL hours later of constant running/jumping/dodging/climbing/lifting and electrocuting - yes you heard me right! I could proudly say I successfully completed it!
Below is visual evidence that it did in fact happen (it is still is a bit hazey to me) with some interestingly facial expressions had by all.
A very belated post!
I was asked to come along to document a colleagues relatives Mehndi party. This was a really fun evening, as the event photographer and as an experience in itself observing the traditions of an Indian wedding for the first time!
Below are a selection of my favourite images of the evening
My company went ALL OUT last Halloween. Fancy dress and desk decorating competitions galore (sadly I won neither) but what a fun day it was at the office!
I documented the day as I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get portraits of everyone in costume! I used my canon 600D, 50 mm lens and flashgun. My company hired a pub in the evening to continue the celebrations where I set up a 'photobooth' style shoot with one light set up. Below are a selection of my favorite snaps from the day.
